OK. .so we do Ten-O-oSht, (great!) , and then do we do Pi-O-Oini until Neknai O Panoti?? Thanks mate,
yes. neknai o panouti is a conclusion to the doxology rather than part of it.
So, to summarise, before the morning vespers (where abouna comes into the Church), we do:
a) Ten-O-osht (the morning tune) b) Pi-O-Oini Enta Evmi c) Neknai O-Panoti?
Also, if I remember correctly, there's also Apekhristos Penoti for the khetam somewhere.. or am i mistaken??

THanks Mina, God bless.
ya habibi you're confusing yourself. The Morning Doxology is said......the morning doxology is the ten-o-oosht and the pi-o-pine parts untill hetino evshe. it's alllllll one doxology. do not saparate them. you tend to do so because it is divided that way into feast's matins.....but don't think that way.
the doxology is it's own thing. in feasts, instead of saying it before Matins, you say it INTO matins and in special tunes.
NO apikhrestos no nothing. it is that simple. don't confuse or complicate things in out church....especially alhan, just for the fact that our heritage is so diverse.

and sorry just a side comment that i would like to mention.. -we r in Pentecost right now ..it is the joyous 50 days that we r now living.. pls correct me if i am wrong
pls keep my weakness in ur prayers -sister in Christ
well not exactly. the "Pentecost" is the feast of the Fiftieth day, that's where the part "Pente" comes from.
hey minagir, sorry i dont mean to argue or anything but r u sure of that? my hymns class teacher(very well educated in hymns and rites) said that this period is called the period of pentecost and then after is the FEAST of pentecost..and it only makes sense that its like that because with any occasion its like that aswell..for example we fast the fast for the nativity then we celebrate the FEAST of the nativity..so i think the same logic is applied -besides that i have a calender type book that has the daily church reading for like pauline, katholikon, praxis, and so on and also mentions the feasts of each day .. and for these 50 joyous days it says that this period is the pentecost ..for ex it says week 1 of pentecost ..week 2 and so on..u get my drift http://www.theotokos.org/ChurchCalendar/index.htm a sample page of it is in that link
sorry again.pls keep my weakness in ur prayers -sister in Christ
No mina is correct, its called the Holy 50 not pentecost. In egypt you will never hear them say that, you will always hear them say the Holy 50, and i have a calender as well and it says 1st week of holy 50 2nd etc. . .

I'm not trying to complicate life on purpose, it just comes naturally. I don't know why that happens with me.
Anyway, its clear. I'm glad we got this sorted out.
So, is this hymn (Ten-o-osht & pi-o-oini) used for ALL matins? For each day!?

yes this doxology is said on all days, any time you do matins for any service.
