  • The Coptic Church is very friendly. This website is very proof. I don't have that experience. On the contrary, I suffered greatly on this website as I ask many questions and sometimes, depending on the admins, if they don't like my question, i ge…
  • +purity2:  We do not know what Sara's trouble's are exactly. We don't know if people in church are swearing at her, humiliating her, or even causing her to lose her peace ; in which case, there's no point in going to the COC. Its pointless.  I just …
  • Dear Sara,I had the same experience when growing up in the Coptic Church. The servants were bullies, rude and very mean. If Christ was working in their lives, then I'd hate to see what they'd have been like if Satan actually had any control over the…
  • Isn't this just the plot of 'The DaVinci Code'? yes...
  • Well, these are from N. Ireland. They believe that only Christ was married, but He even had kids.  What are the spiritual implications if Christ was married? What would that change for our salvation?
  • Then 0:15 seconds: this guy is saying "Every sunday like dat".  Lol.. talk about embarrassing. Why can't he speak English normally? I don't know what's more embarrassing - his accent and poor English, or the fact that there's the same problem every …
  • @minasoliman Sorry if my writing wasn't clear. Why do you have to re read it for? I'm obviously upset at myself for not closing the door on this stupid lady searching for sweets at 8 pm with some kids.
  • I feel like a right idiot! This parent, whose son goes to the same school as my son, came on halloween day with 5 / 6 kids asking for sweets. I wanted to tell her: "I don't believe or condone this nonsense" - but i was too scared, like a right chump…
  • I think, as with the Catholic, any homosexual person is welcome in our Church; however, to partake of any sacrament, he/she must: a) Abstain from homosexual activity (sex)b) Confess/repent for this I do not see where the problem is: we are not rejec…

  • one guy told me is that women cannot touch the eucharist; hence why he forbade her and not st thomas
  • Thanks Mina, Yes, its Jn 20:17. What is your understanding on "do not touch me" part - He says that to Mary Magdalene as she tried to cling to Him. If anyone else has any other explanations on this, please share it. Thanks
  • Hi ServentOfGod, This is what I would do: a) Go to a Russian Orthodox Church - the girls there are just models... all of them. Participate in their activities, their services etc. You'll be sure to make friends at least and I'm sure through that you…
  • Im just glad that i'm not the only one sad if not concerned over this issue. Having said that, I still think its a blessing that they at least attend Protestant Prayer Groups than the stuff I've seen already.
  • I spoke to a bishop who told me that there's no such thing as a protestant/orthodox/catholic hymn. Either its orthodox/correct in the hymn's theology or its not. That makes 'Allahu Akbar' OK too! And maybe even some Mormon/Jehovah's witness hymns. …

  • There's the Philokalia and the Art of Prayer by K. Ware
  • Hi everyone what's going on with the forum getting these strange advertising posts in the past week? What's really making my blood boil is that they reduced this forum to an unusable discussion platform with a tradeoff of reducing the bots/spams, a…
  • Hi I'm just curious, but what exactly is dating going to give you that friendship will not give you? Even if you are Interested in marrying a girl - surely a life of friendship or common activity between you is what you need? If I understand cor…
  • Mina, To remove SPAM or bots from a forum, there are many add-ons that can do this - no doubt its via SQLinject methods. Bots and SPAM can indeed ruin a forum, but making the forum un-usable is shooting yourself in the foot.
  • I'll ask Anba Youssef when I see him. Having said that, I heard that our Tasbeha in Spanish is better in Spanish than it is in Coptic or Arabic (or Italian!). Moreover, the Spanish hymns in the Catholic Church aren't that bad either... very very fun…
  • Hi Return to Orthodoxy. This is very odd that we cannot roll back to a previous version of Tasbeha.org Bulletin Board. I think the admins are very spiritual, but perhaps you need to look at employing technical people who have some knowledge in how t…
  • im just curious, but it seems from what I've seen and heard, that most of the Copts in Bolivia are actually native Bolivians. How did that happen??
  • Guys, Thanks a million. This is awesome. Im living near Spain now and travelling to Spain (from France) is just a great experience. I'm passing the most beautiful scenery in the world. I've already been in touch with a priest in Spain already. I lov…
  • @Ophadece What are you talking about???!!!! Where did i say that Arabic is the official language of our Church? A Church doesn't have an official language - it has an official credo or creed and Patriarchate. I said the official language of EGYPT is…
  • Gents, Your dialogue and rationale about the Liturgy being in Arabic really is a clear manifestation of your intolerance to the Islamisation/Arabisation of Egypt. I think this is pretty clear.  Let's not go on and on and on about how a Church is mea…
  • Dear Friends, @AnthonyPaul - I think you are over-philosophising this my old friend.  I agree with you that if for me its not a problem then it doesn't mean its not a problem for someone else. Very true. But my 2 cents is that praying in Arabic isn'…
  • Hello Metouro I really understand well your problem. You wish your kids to grow up understanding the liturgy, vespers, doxologies etc; and Arabic isn't their mother tongue, so what kind of upbringing will they have in the Church?  I just have one sm…
