rites of the wedding liturgy

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is an official canon relating to whether the girl can walk down the aisle at her wedding.  The enforced rule in our churches here is that a girl must be given over to her groom at the church door and they walk in together to the alter.  I'm wondering if this is actually the church canon.

the reason i ask is 3 fold

1.  i have heard previously that the groom comes into epoouro and the girl follows to shere maria, semouti shaf ensob or teoi enhekano, which would make more sense then both the bride and groom coming into epouro (i mean she's not a king)

2. From my point of view the wedding is symbolic of the relationship of Christ and myself/the church, meaning HE leads before me and i follow, also that he has gone before me to heaven (the alter) and waits there to welcome me to the place he has prepared for me "i go to prepare a place for you" this fits with the image of Christ in revelations awaiting his Bride for the wedding feast of the lamb.  i don't understand how this symbolism would work if both the bride and groom walk in together.

3. i have no personal reason for walking down the aisle, my father has passed on and i HATE being the center of attention, but it means so much symbolically for me that my husband walk in first and i follow.

does someone have any links/videos/articles that say definitively what the canon is in relation to this?  I'm happy to submit to church authority if it is indeed canon that the girl be given over at the church's door, however if it is not canon i need definite proof in writing or from the mouth of the pope/synod/H.E MET. bishoy before i have a leg to stand on and question the standing rule here.

Someone said to me that either HH. Pope shenouda or HE Met Bishoy answered this question on aghapy, but i have no copy of the answer, if someone does or can get a copy of the aghapy episode i'd be more then happy to pay for shipping costs for a copy

thanks all.
