Pentecost Apekhrestos - Tasbeha

edited December 1969 in Hymns Discussion
Hi,

Do you guys know the long joyful tune of Apekhrestos that is sung in the tasbeha? The tune has been bugging me for ages, and I forgot the words.

I'd like it if you can supply me with the MP3 or the lyrics

Thanks

    what apikhristos in tasbeha?
  • Hi Mina,

I think (THINK!!) the start goes something like this:

Apekhristos pennoti tonf evol khen ni esmo-out O-woh afshenaf epshoi ennefi-o-weee aff-o-orpee nan empiparakliton.

I think its said instead of Amoini Mar or Ten-O-osht.

If i got this mixed up, please let me know.

    Thanks
  • It's the verses of cymbals. It's not in tasbeha but rather matins and vespers. You'll find it under hymns of Pentecost
  • Thanks Mina,

I found it. Tell me, is the tune for this the joyful tune of the cymbals? Do you know the one I'm talking about??

Its sort of joyful, yet soft?

    Thanks

Great. Correct me if I'm wrong, but during vespers (matins) - instead of doing Tenoosht Emeviot etc... , you'd do Apekhristos in the joyful tune, and then when you come to the part of Shere-Teparthenos, you'd switch to sanawee? Can you confirm?
  • in short tune, there is no annual or fstive....only in long.

about replacing ten-o-osht.....it really depends on what yuo are taught....but in general, yes.
  • There is annual and joyful Mina. I couldn't really understand your point - what did you mean in your previous post?

after you switch to the fast tune, they are the same tune.
  • no I disagree the long tune is joyful and the short is annual. If all the cantors change the tune after a few verses (most likely at Yasos Bekhrestos that's due to common practices influenced by time restraints but shouldn't be so. I hope this makes sense and I hope hos erof supports my argument
