Performing Abortions

Are Christian doctors [those who belong to denominations that don't allow abortions i.e. the Catholic or the Orthodox Churches] allowed to perform them?

They are forbidden by their religious affiliations, but it relies on their conscience, greed, and stupidity factor.

there are many Christian doctors (orthodox, catholic, protestants) in the uk who are gynaecologists and don't do abortions, and they are discriminated against in their career.
i suppose it is the same in many other countries.
please pray for Christians in medicine to stay strong and not compromise.

Reason I asked was because, while thinking about it i noticed that performing an abortion is something [wrong] done for another person.  Just as, killing someone in war is also something [wrong] done for another person/cause.
