Tasbeha

edited December 1969 in Coptic Orthodox Church
Hi,

Happy Apostles Fast by the by...

right...i am really really new to this and would like some help, i might be asking for the world, but it is much appreciated...

Any one know where i can find the ORDER for tasbeha praises...i.e. we start of with ESHLIIL/EPI PROZEVKI STASI TE... etc... (clearly I dont have coptic fonts!)
I think it's:
raising of incense
verse of cymbals
doxologies
end???

Help would be great!  ;D

peace and blessings

  • You are almost right, and you mean BAKER not TASBEHA  :D

in between the doxologies and verse of the cymbals (on sundays) you say the prayer for the sick and the prayer for oblations.

after the doxologies you read the gospel and then the end.

    sorry if i missed anything.

    ABANOUB
  • As abanoub mentioned I think you mean Matins or Vespers, because what you stated works for both. Raising of incense consists of Verses of cymbals etc. it is not part of the Matins or Vespers it is merely another name for matins and sometimes for vespers as well. I am not sure what you are asking for so pick either tasbeha or the rasiing of incense, which will it be?  :D
  • lol of course, how could i forget the gospel  !!! :o

well....it's certainly not baker (sorry Abanoub) - so i will chose tasbeha (the thing we do in the evenings! - might clarify it just a bit) but even so, the order would be roughly the same for the evening and the morning of the next day, right?

What I'm saying really is, if i went to church this Saturday evening for (BLANK), we do roughly the same things as do on the Sunday morning for Baker...  ??? ??? ???

    Sorry to confuse!
  • hey Keroulus,
