Should we fast from all food after taking communion?

edited December 1969 in Coptic Orthodox Church
If I have communion on a Wednesday or Friday, and I take communion before 3:00PM, should I continue fasting after communion until 3:00PM, or is the fast considered broken.

first a fast is supposed to start from midnight the day before or for some exceptions, 9 hours before the partaking of communion, or for children exceptions, the hours of their age.

now the fast ENDS with communion or with the ending of the service fasted for.
  • Doesn't the fast end teh minute you take communion? (Bothe the body and the blood)

Correct me if i am mistaken=)

  • you can proceed as normal... fast till the time appointed to you by your father of confession... communion is not food... it is the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, if you view it as mere food, then you broke your fast, and you don't even deserve it in the first place!

another note, keep your spiritual log to yourself... if you fast to a time, however many matanias, how much you read from the bible... these are not things to be shared, its for you and your spiritual guide only!
