  • I will love you Lord my God as long as I shall live
I will always be thankful for all what you give
Lord I am a sinner, forgive me for what I do
And please come whenever I call you

Lord you are my strength, my refuge day & night,
And I will follow you, for You are the True light,
Lord, you are the truth, the life, and the way,
Please help me to follow You day by day
  • I believe all beauty originates from the heart of God, so with that said I offer three famous ancient Chinese poems, that although they do not refer to God specifically, they do indeed contain great beauty, and speak to the innermost part of the heart,in ways both profound and poignant. At least thats my opinion.I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

    FALLEN FLOWERS

    The guests have all left
    their high pavilion

    and in the little garden
    a whirling storm of petals

    they lie in random heaps
    across the twisting path

    and stretch into the distance
    to catch the setting sun

    it breaks my heart
    to sweep them up

    instead I stand and stare
    till they mostly blow away

    these fragrant-hearted beings
going the way of the spring

they die and earn their tribute--
the tears that spot my clothes.

    ON CHING-T'ING MOUNTIAN

The birds have vanished down the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.

We sit together, the mountain and me,
    until only the mountain remains.

    CHIUPU RIVER SONG

My white hair extends three miles
the sorrow of parting made it this long
looking in a mirror who would guess
    where autumn frost comes from

I'm glad you liked the poems...chinese poetry is not everyone's cup of tea...lol..but I find it has the ability to touch my soul deeply. It makes you think about the deeper things of life.

"J" actually stands for Jerry. Not a very common or popular name nowadays...lol
  • lol......i never met an egyptian named jerry...u r egy...lol... ;D ;D...i love chinese and all other types... :) :)
  • There's this really nice poem that I got from my friend, and I just wanted to share.

My Child I Miss You, Come Back To Me
I miss the closeness there used to be
The times you and I would spend alone
Studying my word, ignoring the phone,
The long talks we used to enjoy
Now you are so busy, I am like a casy away toy
I still love you, I always will
I long your life, with me to fill
I know you are still lonely, but I am still here
My child come, whisper in my ear
I will wrap my arms around you, gather you in
I will wash away all the stains of sin
I love you, I hurt when you are away
come back now, by my side to stay
i will fill the emptiness you feel within
I will tone down, the world's loud din
I know you are weary to the bone
I miss the times we spent alone
I miss the closeness there used to be
My Child, I Miss you, come back to me
    Love,
    Your Heavenly Father

By christian writer do you refer specifically to those who write poetry or to any christian author in general? If so, who are your favorites? I am currently reading the famous Polish author Henryk Sienkiewicz{1846-1916} who was either Orthodox or Catholic, and who wrote marvelous and exiting works of fiction; true classics.I have written some poems{there not very good, lol}and will post some if you will do the same, lol.I bet you are a very talented poet,or should I say poetess?...lol...
  • Well I guess my favourite Christian Poet is H.H. Pope Shenoda III, but I don;t know about any writers...

    Travelling On Your Knees

Last night I took a journey
To a land across the seas.
I didn't go by ship or plane
    I traveled on my knees.

I saw so many people there
    In bondage to their sin,
And Jesus told me I should go,
That there were souls to win.

    But I said "Jesus, I can't go
    To lands across the seas."
He answered quickly, "Yes, you can
    By traveling on your knees."

He said, "You pray, I'll meet the need.
You call, and I will hear.
It's up to you to be concerned
For lost souls far and near."

And so I did; knelt in prayer,
Gave up some hours of ease,
And with the Savior by my side,
    I traveled on my knees.

As I prayed on, I saw souls saved
    And twisted persons healed,
I saw God's workers strength renewed
    While laboring in the field.

I said, "Yes Lord, I'll take the job.
Your heart I want to please.
I'll heed Your call and swiftly go
    By traveling on my knees."

    One Solitary Life

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village,
the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in another obscure village,
where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty,
and then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
    He never wrote a book.
    He never held an office.
    He never owned a home.
    He never had a family.
    He never went to college.
He never set foot inside a big city.
He never traveled 200 miles from the place where He was born.
He never did any of the things that usually accompany greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.
He had nothing to do with this world except the naked power of His divine manhood.

    While still a young man,
the tide of public opinion turned against Him.
    His friends ran away.
    One of them denied Him.
He was turned over to His enemies.
He went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two theives.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth, his robe.
When he was dead He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone and today
He is the centerpiece of the human race and the leader of the column of progress.
I am far within the mark when I say that
all the armies that ever marched,
and all the navies that ever sailed,
and all the parliaments that ever sat,
all the kings that ever reigned, put together
have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that One Solitary Life.

There are a few Variations of this poem all over the web, but this is my ABOLUTE Favorit

    Sherry and Coptic boy,

Wow! Those are two great poems! Thanks for sharing.

    "Still He Walked"

He could hear the crowds screaming "crucify" "crucify"...
He could hear the hatred in their voices,
    These were his chosen people.
    He loved them,
And they were going to crucify him.
He was beaten, bleeding and weakened... his heart was broken, But still
    He walked.

He could see the crowd as he came from the palace.
He knew each of the faces so well.
    He had created them.
He knew every smile, laugh, and shed tear,
But now they were contorted with rage and anger...his heart broke, But
    still He walked.

    Was he scared?
You and I would have been
So his humanness would have mandated that he was.
He felt alone. His disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed him.
He searched the crowd for a loving face and he saw very few.
Then he turned his eyes to the only one that mattered
And he knew that he would never be alone.
He looked back at the crowd, at the people who were spitting
At him, throwing rocks at him and mocking him and he knew
That because of him, they would never be alone. So for them, He walked.

The sounds of the hammer striking the spikes echoed through
The crowd. The sounds of his cries echoed even louder,
The cheers of the crowd, as his hands and feet
Were nailed to the cross, intensified with each blow.
Loudest of all was the still small voice inside his
Heart that whispered "I am with you, my son",
    And God's heart broke.
He had let his son walk.

Jesus could have asked God to end his suffering,
But instead he asked God to forgive.
Not to forgive Him, but to forgive the ones who were persecuting Him.
As He hung on that cross, dying an unimaginable death,
He looked out and saw, not only the faces in the crowd,
But also, the face of every person yet to be, And His heart filled with
    love.
As His body was dying, His heart was alive.
Alive with the limitless, unconditional love He feels for each of us.
    That is why He walked.

When I forget how much My God loves me,
    I remember His walk.
When I wonder if I can be forgiven,
    I remember His walk.
When I need reminded of how to live like Christ,
    I think of His walk.
And to show Him how much I love Him,
I wake up each morning, turn my eyes to Him,
    And I walk.

  • here r some more sorry i dont know if they are already on there

A small boy at a summer camp received a large package of cookies in the
mail from his mother. He ate a few, then placed the remainder under his
bed. The next day, after lunch, he went to his tent to get a cookie, but
    the box was gone.

That afternoon a camp counsellor, who had been told of the theft, saw
another boy sitting a tree eating the stolen cookies. He returned to the
group and sought out the boy whose cookies had been stolen. He said,
"Billy, I know who stole your cookies. Will you help me teach him a
    lesson?"

The puzzled boy replied, "Well yes, but aren't you going to punish him?"

The counsellor explained "No, that would make him resent me and hate
you. No, I want you to call your mother and ask her to send you another
    box of cookies."

Billy did as the counsellor said, and a few days later received another
box of delicious homemade cookies in the mail. The counsellor said, "Now,
the boy who stole your cookies is down by the lake. Go down there and
    share your cookies with him."
The boy protested, "But he's the thief."
I know but try it, and see what happens," replied the counsellor.
About half an hour later, the camp counsellor saw the two come up the
hill, arm in arm. The boy who had stolen the cookies was earnestly
trying to get the other to accept his jack knife in payment for the
stolen cookies, and the victim was just as earnestly refusing the gift
from his new friend, saying that a few cookies weren't important anyway.
We all have a great hunger for forgiveness as this next story indicates.
It happened in Spain that a father and teenage son had a broken
relationship. The son ran away, but the father searched for his
rebellious son. Finally, in Madrid, in a last desperate attempt to find
him, the father put an ad in the newspaper. The ad read: "Dear Paco,
meet me in front of the newspaper office at noon. All is forgiven. I
    love you. Your father."
The next day at noon, in front of the newspaper office, eight hundred
"Pacos" showed up! It seems that all theses men with the name Paco were
seeking forgiveness and love from their fathers.
Does a child of yours need your forgiveness today? Or maybe, you need to
seek your father's forgiveness. Or maybe it is a spouse or a sister or
brother or neighbour who needs forgiveness. Remember, "Forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." God is waiting!

  • "All Things Grow ... With Love"

I once taught in a small private school located within the charming
confines of a three-story stone mansion. Each morning at nine o'clock
all the students gathered in the Great Room for a metaphysical warm-up
in preparation for the day. Fifty-three children, ranging in age from
three to seven years, sat on child-sized colourful chairs or in
sun-flooded patterns on the thick carpet. Each bright face was
illuminated by positive thoughts and feelings as he or she eagerly
anticipated the morning's songs, meditations and exploration into yet
another metaphysical cranny of the mind.
One morning the headmistress made an announcement to all the children
gathered. "Today we begin a great experiment of the mind, of your mind."
She held up two small ivy plants, each potted in an identical container.
"Here we have two plants," she continued. "Do they look the same?"
All the children nodded solemnly. So did I, for, in this way, I was also
    a child.
We will give the plants the same amount of light, the same amount of
water, but not the same amount of attention," she said. "Together we are
going to see what will happen when we put one plant out in the kitchen,
on the counter, away from our attention, and the other plant right here
in this room on the mantel."
She placed one plant on the white wooden ledge, then led the children en
masse to the kitchen where she sat the other plant on the white counter.
Afterward she led the parade of wide-eyed youngsters back to their
    places in the Great Room.
"Each day for the next month, we shall sing to our plant on the mantel,"
she said. "We will tell it with words how much we love it, how beautiful
it is. We will use our good minds to think good thoughts about this
    plant."
One of the smallest children jumped to her feet. "But, Ma'am, what about
the plant out there?" She pointed a stubby finger toward the kitchen.
The headmistress smiled at all her charges. "We will use the kitchen
plant as the 'control' in our great experiment. How do you think it will
    work?"
    "We won't speak to it?"
    "Not even a whisper."
"We won't send it any good thoughts?"
That's right. And then we'll see what happens."
Four weeks later my novice eyes were as wide and disbelieving as the
children's. The kitchen plant was leggy and sick-looking, and it hadn't
grown at all. But the Great Room plant, which had been sung to and
swaddled in positive thoughts and words, had increased threefold in size
with dark succulent leaves that fairly vibrated with energy when
addressed with song, word or thought.
In order to prove the experiment - and also dry the tears of the
tender-hearted among us who feared for the life of the other plant - the
kitchen ivy was rescued from its solitary confinement and brought to the
Great Room to join the other ivy on the mantel, but at the opposite end.
Within three weeks, the second plant had caught up with the first ivy.
Within four weeks, they could not be recognized, one from the other.
I took this lesson to heart and made it my own:
    All things grow...with love.
Prayer "Lord, increase my faith in your redeeming love and power that I may
always recognize your abiding presence with me. And give me courage to
do your will in all circumstances."

  • MEMO FROM GOD
    to: YOU
    Date: TODAY
    From: THE BOSS
    Subject: YOURSELF
    Reference: LIFE

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved, but in my time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic; don’t despair. There are people in this world for which driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone badly; Think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new grey hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what my purpose is? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; Remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

  • "See How The Lilies Grow"

"See how the lilies of the field grow." (Matthew 6:28)

Many years ago there was a monk who needed olive so he planted an olive
sapling. After he finished planting it, he prayed, "Lord, my tree needs
rain so its tender roots may drink and grow. Send gentle showers." And
the Lord sent gentle showers. Then the monk prayed, "Lord, my tree needs
sun. Please send it sun." And the sun shone, gilding the once-dripping
clouds. "Now send frost, dear Lord, to strengthen its branches," cried
the monk. And soon the little tree was covered in sparkling frost, but
    by evening it had died.

Then the monk sought out a brother monk in his cell and told him of his
strange experience. After hearing the story, the other monk said, "I
also have planted a little tree. See how it is thriving! But I entrust
my tree to its God. He who made it knows better than a man like me what
it needs. I gave God no constraints or conditions, except to pray,
"Lord, send what it needs -- whether that is a storm or sunshine, wind,
rain, or frost. You made it, and you know best what it needs.'"

    Yes, leave it with Him,
    The lilies all do.
    And they all grow---
    They grow in the rain,
And they grow in the dew---
    Yes, they grow:
    They grow in the darkness,
    all hid in the night---
    They grow in the sunshine,
    revealed by the light---
    Still they grow.
    Yes, leave it with Him,
It's more dear to His heart,
    You will know,
    Than the lilies that bloom,
    Or the flowers that start
    'Neath the snow:
    Whatever you need,
if you seek it in prayer,
You can leave it with Him --
for you are in His care.

  • The story is told of two hunters who got a pilot to fly them into the
far north for elk hunting. They were quite successful in their venture
and bagged six big bucks. The pilot came back, as arranged, to pick
them up. They started loading their gear into the plane, including the
    six elk.

The pilot objected and said, "The plane can only carry four of your elk.
Any more than that would weigh the plane down too much. You'll have to
leave two of the elk behind."

The two hunters were both infuriated and insistent. They said, "Last
year, we shot six elk and that pilot let us put them all on board. And
that plane was the exact same model."

Reluctantly, the pilot finally permitted them to put all six aboard. But
about fifteen minutes after taking off, the engine started to sputter,
and within seconds they were hurtling to the ground and crashed into the
    wilderness.

Climbing out of the wreckage, one hunter said to the other, "Do you know
    where we are?"

"I think so," replied the other hunter. "I think this is about a mile
from where we crashed last year!"

We're mighty slow to learn at times. We make a mistake, and you would
think we would learn never to make that mistake again, but we often find
ourselves right back where we were. We think, "This time it will be
different. This time it won't end up the same way." But it often does.
Hopefully, though, we eventually reach a level of maturity where we can
    learn from our mistakes.

Huxley once said, "Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a
man does with what happens to him."

And the apostle Paul wrote, "The things which you learned and received
and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with
    you." (Philippians 4:9).

Made any mistakes lately? Thanks to Christ, it doesn't have to be the
end of the world. But may you learn from them as you grow closer to
    God.

  • God, when I received this e-mail, I thought...
I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work.
Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is... Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.
We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...
    Maybe, Sunday night...
And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.
We do like to have Him around during sickness...
    And, of course, at funerals.
However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...
Because... That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own.
May God forgive me for ever thinking...
That. there is a time or place where...
HE is not to be FIRST in my life.
We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.
If, You aren't ashamed to do this...
    Please follow the directions.
Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be
ashamed of you before my Father."
    Not ashamed?
Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!
    Yes, I do Love God.
HE is my source of existence and Savoir.
He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will be nothing. Without Him, I am nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test.
If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvellous things HE has done for you...

    THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do. I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do, That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord, I came, and I stood with downcast eyes. For in his hands God held a book; It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
    Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
    But never found the time"
  • Easy vs. Hard
Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to
    tell a lie?
Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?
Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?
Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e- ma ill, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?
Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger?
Do you give up? Think about it .
Just remember-God is watching you. Prayer Wheel-Let's see the devil stop this one!
Here's what the wheel is all about. When you receive this, say a prayer for the person that sent it to you....
That's all you have to do....
    There is nothing attached....
    This is so powerful....
Do not stop the wheel, please....
Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one....
There are no costs, but wonderful rewards... GOD BLESS!

God couldn't take the time to bless us today because we couldn't take
the time to thank Him yesterday?
God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn't follow Him
    today?
We may not see another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent
    the Rain?
God didn't walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?
God took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?
God took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?
God didn't send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be
prepared to pay the price for sin.
the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of
    our heart?
God stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?
God would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him?
God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?
God met our needs the way we give Him our lives
  • May God keep you and bless you. If this doesn't give you chills, nothing will...this message is very true. Hope you are all as blessed as I was from this story. I wonder how many people will delete this without reading it because of the title on it?

There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak..."I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there, son?" "Just some old birds," came the reply.
"What are you gonna do with them?" I asked.
"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time." "But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do?"
"Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy.
"They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."
The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"
"Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"
"How much?" the pastor asked again.
The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"
The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.
The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free.
Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story.
One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"
"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.
Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"
"And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked.
"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't any good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!"
    "How much?" He asked again.
Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life."
    Jesus said, "DONE!"
    Then He paid the price.
The pastor picked up the cage he opened the door and he walked from the pulpit.
Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).
Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing?
Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. I pray, for everyone who sends this to their entire address book, they will be blessed by God in a way special for them.
