there is not much things special about these hymns. you only have the psalies that are said before the hooses, tenoweh ensok and magma3 according to the tune of the doxolgoies on the day, and just the doxologies of lent.
The Lobsh's can be said in a Lenten tune(not lenten more or less fasting tune)
whicc is the tune that most churchs say the hitenies at the end with.
I read on coptichymns.net that the tune of the theotokia changes as well into the one sung in Kiahk; which in Adam is more or less similar to the Arabic song "sabany". What are you views on this?

Dear all,

that is wrong. there is no source of that. it makes sense to tihnk that way but it's not true. many things are the same in both fasts, but not ALL.
btw, that way of the theotokeia in kiahk, it is in fact very controversial even thoo my church do use it all the time.
My question is does the theotokia tune in fasting days follow that of Kiahk; I assume you are aware that there is some who say that the Adam tune in Kiahk (and hence in the Lent) is more or less like the Arabic song "sabany"; what are your views?
Thanks minagir on your view. I tend to go by what you are saying on this.

Another question popped up into my mind. How would the part "teoi enhikanos" in Sunday's theotokia be chanted during Kiahk if we follow this tune which sounds like "sabany". Does anyone have a recording for that they can forward to me?

actually, i just thought of it, it doesn't really sound like sabany, it's very similar to the Tafaseer that are said after.....the only diffrence is tafseer is divided into 2 parts
Does from Teoi enhikanos onwards, the tune change? That is my question.

Are you talking about the hymn right after Ten Thino?
Its really long that one.
Dear minagir,
Does from Teoi enhikanos onwards, the tune change? That is my question.
God bless you and pray for us a lot
no. from Semouti, beginning of the theotokeia. so u'll say the whole theotokeia in this tune.
No, QT_PA_2T; I was talking of the theotokia only, not the start of the whole of the midnight chants.
