  • Marriage is the union of a female and a male in the Church.  They stand in the front of the closed alter throughout the ceremony.  At a certain point, abouna opens the alter (curtain).  The two kneel in front of the alter.  A single lefafa is placed over their interlocked hands, symbolizing that they are one. . . .

a crown is always on a king's head. the wedding day, the bride and the groom are considered the king and queen of the day.

    I know why.

The Church crowns the bride and groom , because at that moment, they are no longer "princes and princesses of God," but are now "King and Queen".

That's what my FoC told me.
