The Old Testament

Hey does anyone know why the Old Testament have all those of who the father of who and all that VERY VERY long list of names and what not
Also the dimensions of like the Temple of Solomon and the arc of Noah and all the dimensions mentioned in the Old Testament ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

For one thing, it may have been a fragment of historical record. The dimensions of the Temple, may have been the dimensions the architects used. Also, for the Bible reader, these make the event a reality, not just a story. As far as the geneology goes, it is a type of family tree to David and Christ (the New David).
