Confession question

Somethimes someone whants to confess things but they are not easy to describe? How should someone handle this?
A priest where I confessed told me that it is not possible to confess literally everything.. if it is really something god will lead you to confess it.
But i am a bit confused and i think it is the devil who wants to confuse me and make me think it is impossible to be saved

yes, the priest is just sitting there to help you connect with God.

it is God who is the one who is listening and God will forgive you and show you what you should do next.
