This topic has intrigued me for a long time...what is the tradition behind the holy relics we venerate in our churches. Why do we place the relics in wooden cylinders, while the Catholics place their relics in transparent reliquaries? Why arent we allowed to see the relics of the saints? What are considered "relics" in the church? (bones? clothes? personal belongings? etc.)
