After Easter, we have a 50 day period of no fasting at all and it is all in joyful tune during services. Why dont we have a period like this after Christmas?

we do....just not that long. the time from the feast to the feast of circumcision. it doesn't break the wednesday and friday fast but the rite is exactly the same as the feast (except or matins). ALSO, to us Copts, the Resurrection is the ultimate feast.....Jesus Christ was born (Christmas), circumcised (Circumcision), baptized (Epiphany), fasted(Lent).....etc to than at the end resurrect (Resurrection) It's the completion of the Economy of salvation.
