In need of prayer

I haven't been in the forum since my last post, I have been very busy! I'm currently in Egypt visiting my about to be husband as we go through paperwork and have been getting to know each other. I have been here a,month and it's very interesting indeed...lol my prayer request is concerning myself....even though he has done nothing but love and serve me since I arrived in Egypt, I have been struggling between my heart and head, and I'm struggling to trust him and need to get this reconciled within myself so that I don't continue to hurt him, as he is aware of the issue. Thank you very much! God bless!

  • may God give you peace.
    i have just 2 tips -
don't rush into anything (see direct message)
do go to the orthodox church and pray
i echo my brother's prayer for you (i have met ophadece in real life!)
may God be with you and give you grace.
  • Kimberly, May God guide you and protect you.
Continue praying and fasting for this cause.
I would hope that you involved your confessor and his in order to help alleviate your concerns and anxiety,
If his Father confessor has allayed your fears then put the matter in God's hands. Do tell the priests that you are feeling this way and inquire if this is from the devil or from your concerns or perhaps a combination of both.
But I think the 2 most important practical steps after prayer/fasting is to talk to your confessor and most definitely his as well. Since, after his parents, his confessor is the one person who would know him best.
You want to ensure that he is rooted and steeped in the church and her faith, living a repentant life as you are.
    May God bless your journey.
If you can expound on what you mean by hurting him? I'm assuming he's aware of your trepidation about marriage?
Let us remember the roles of men and women in marriage and journey you're about to undertake. Humility, submission, loyalty, wisdom, etc.
  • No confessor will speak negatively about his son or daughter ;). So that would have to be taken into consideration when speaking to a partners father of confession.
  • Understandable, but it won't hurt. And a priest won't lie. He is sill invaluable guidance without revealing the confessions of his son/daughter of confession.
